About Us
Teenmom's Voice is a organization that is caring for young teen mothers and their children in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and Mbale since 2019. The local team has been supported by a club in Germany since 2022. The girls become pregnant as a result of emergency prostitution or violence. Although seven years of compulsory education is mandatory for all children in Uganda, many children cannot go to school because they have to contribute to the family's livelihood. The cost of schooling prevents many parents from sending their children to school at all, so the total number of children receiving an appropriate education is very small. In order to obtain financial resources, very young girls sometimes prostitute themselves. TMV wants to counteract this and create new perspectives.
Our mission
One of the most needy children in this world is the child of a teenage mother, because she is still a child herself. That's why we support mother AND child. We can change the lives of individuals with little resources and that's why we want to get the girls away from prostitution and give them a new perspective. Our goal is for mother and child to stay together, for the children not to be abandoned and to give the girls hope and alternatives.
Our vision
In the future, we would like to create a place in the form of a building where the girls can live with their babies for a longer period of time. A place where they can work on projects, receive medical care and guidance.
